Mamas Gun are a musically diverse, feisty and fabulous five-piece band. Penned to release their 4th album in 2017, this date at Londons Jazz cafe is their first of 2017 & will see them exclusively showcase some of the new material on stage for the first time.
Mamas Gun released their debut album Routes To Riches in 2009. This was followed by album THE LIFE & SOUL (featuring a further playlist with UKs queen of soul Beverly Knight) & latest release CHEAP HOTEL which hit top playlist spots in over 4 different continents. Mamas guns music has been said to combine the euphoria of soul and Motown music with the spirit of Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Lewis Taylor and the Average White Band at their blue-eyed-soul best.
The records are all about musical enjoyment and nothing to do with the fleets of fashion and this “philosophy” has obviously already hit a nerve as the band have achieved play-list status for 4 of their singles on the BBC Radio 2 & enjoyed an Album Of The Week feature on the Smooth radio network among other achievements. More interestingly perhaps, Mamas Gun went on to have a huge impact in Japan where they were heralded as the most played international act in the country, beating Madonna to No. 1 in the airplay charts whilst doing so. In term success and recognition in other territories far reaching around the globe followed.
