Jazz Cafe club night:
Arp Frique (live) + JD Twitch (Autonomous Africa set)

Friday 1st February

Pulsating NYC style live disco vibes, interwoven with both Caribbean and Cape Verdean sounds and a finishing touch of weirdness make up the colourful world of Arp Frique; the exotic and super funky project of Niels Nieuborg. With releases on Rush Hour and collaborations with the likes of Orlando Julius, Ed Motta and Ronald Snijders, his track ‘Nos Magia’ was shortlisted for Track of the Year 2017 at Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide Awards

Joining Arp Frique is the co-founder of Optimo, JD Twich, who is responsible for one of the most esteemed staples of Glaswegian nightlife. Twitch has an ear for music like no other, with the ability to entwine melodies which most wouldn’t dream of mixing together, let alone play out. His edit of “Ce N’est Pas Bon” is a highlight of the Autonomous Africa catalogue and for this show he’ll be digging deep into his crates of African gems.

A percentage of door money from the show will be donated to a charity of JD’s choice.

Perfect for groups of 15 to 150, our mezzanine level is all about exclusivity and intimacy. To reserve an area for drinks, click ‘party bookings’ and submit an enquiry.
