Electronic Music Icons
Art of Noise/Revision/VJ Set

Thursday 5th January

2023 marks the 40th anniversary of the Art of Noise, the Grammy Award-winning pioneers of sampling and electronic music.  And celebrations start in the very first week of the year with exclusive shows at The Jazz Cafe from co-founders JJ Jeczalik and Gary Langan – and some surprise guests.

JJ Jeczalik and Gary Langan co‐founded Art of Noise in 1983 with Trevor Horn, Paul Morley and Anne Dudley – tearing up the rule book of pop and rebooting electronic music forever.

Hits include Close (to the Edit), Moments in Love, Beat Box and collabs with Duane Eddy (Peter Gunn), Tom Jones (Kiss) and Max Headroom (Paranoimia).

They were also a fundamental force behind some of the biggest productions of the 80s. From Malcolm McLaren’s Buffalo Gals to Buggles’ Video Killed the Radio Star. Frankie Goes To Hollywood to Yes to Scritti Politti to Pet Shop Boys.

Jeczalik & Langan create a dynamic audio/visual cut‐up of 40 years of music and video, which The Jazz Cafe is proud to unveil.  A rare performance from the electronic/sampling music greats; this is not a show to be missed.
