Jazz Cafe club night:
Daddy G (Massive Attack)

Friday 24th September

We’re delighted to welcome one of the founding members of Massive Attack for a late night shakedown, Daddy G.

Daddy G is widely regarded as the spiritus rector of the “Bristol Sound“, a mixture of dub, reggae, funk, disco and hip hop, represented by the like of Massive Attack, Smith & Mighty, and Portishead, a band he would DJ for as well as provide sample material. It was with Massive Attack though where Daddy G made a name for himself, a core voice within the band responsible for timeless records ‘Teardrops’ and ‘Unfinished Sympathy’.

Daddy G’s DJ sets have made waves alongside as a synonym for the eclectic music style, bringing the newest in disco, punk-funk and rap imports, as well as soul and dub reggae. His sets were not only legendary because of their selection and his mixing skills, but because he rocked the microphone with as much ease as the turntables.

Perfect for groups of 15 to 150, our mezzanine level is all about exclusivity and intimacy. To reserve an area for drinks, click ‘party bookings’ and submit an enquiry.
