We celebrate one of the canonical works of American jazz, Dave Brubeck’s eternal classic Time Out on the 60th anniversary of it’s release.
Performing the key tracks from the album live will be Dave Brubeck’s son Darius Brubeck alongside his quartet.
Led by the hit single “Take Five,” written by alto saxophonist Paul Desmond, Time Out was the first jazz album to sell a million copies. A record made all the more impressive by the fact that it is an entirely original album with no ‘standards’ on the track list.
The Darius Brubeck Quartet will play the albums most noteworthy compositions alongside further works relevant to the era across two performances on the night.
