We start a new decade with Rhythm Section presenting a double-header of two of the most exciting breakout artists of 2019, Erika de Casier and Tertia May.
With her instantly recognisable melancholic voice, Copenhagen-based Erika de Casier has combined millennium RnB stylings with dream pop qualities to create house party essentials like ‘Good Time’ and ‘Do My Thing’.
Her 2019 runaway success album ‘Essentials’ landed her a prestige-filled prize from leading Danish music-magazine Soundvenue. The publication stated “It feels as if there is a vision behind everything she does. A reinterpretation of older virtues, that at the same time sound completely fresh. She does everything in her power to push recognisable expressions to new places”.
Tertia May is the London based talent with an instantly recognisable, new sound. Combining a jazz sensibility with a deep soul sound, Tertia May garnered broad critical acclaim with her 2018 EP ‘Kind of Purple’, before her breakout Colors performance and 2019 EP ‘not from concentrate’ further established her position as one of London’s brightest talents.
Rising London artist Sophie Faith opens the show with Bradley Zero on hosting duties.
