Born from the creative mind of musical polymath, Esa Williams, Esa’s Afro-Synth band is reviving the sound of South African dance music.
Combining the talents of 80s bubblegum star Ntombi Ndaba, young artist Ami Koda, Gilles Peterson collaborator Alexander Burke (aka Forest Law) and Esa himself, the collective explores the sounds of African dance music, incorporating a plateau of electronic twist and turns along the way.
As an extra special treat, it’s with great pleasure that the Afro-Synth Band can welcome Steve Monite, the Nigerian singer and songwriter best known for the 1984 Afro-Boogie song and album ‘Only You’, to their lineup for their Jazz Cafe performance.
The band’s 2019 European Tour – a set of six live shows from Bordeaux to Stockholm – proved a huge success and lays the foundations for the continuation of the project on our venues stage.
