Era-Defying Jazz Pioneers
Hamilton de Holanda & Nduduzo Makhathini

Sunday 23rd April

Brazilian Bandolim wizard Hamilton de Holanda and famed South African pianist-composer Nduduzo Makhathini join forces this April, breaking all forms of limitations and barriers to the rules of jazz.

From growing up in the lush and rugged hills of umGungundlovu in South Africa, to touring the world as one of Blue Note’s most renowned artists, Nduduzo Makhathini is one of the most talented musicians of our generation. Drawing influence from the ancient tradition of the Zulu, whose warrior code is deeply reliant on music for motivation and healing, entwining such ideologies with the skills he has acquired from the legends of South African Jazz.

Co-founder of the world’s first Choro School in 1997, de Holanda’s unmatched talent on the 10-string mandolin has made him perform and record around the world with the likes of Wynton Marsalis, Chick Corea, Chucho Valdes, Egberto Gismonti, Ivan Lins, Joshua Redman, Hermeto Pascoal and many more.

Uniting their love for improv and jazz from every corner of the world, these two veterans will leave you yearning for more.
