Jazz Experimental Extraordinaire
Hermeto Pascoal

Monday 31st October

‘The most impressive musician in the world.’ – Miles Davis

The limitless imagination of the Brazilian’s production and performances has been widely celebrated in the world of improv and jazz.

First building his curiosity from the natural sound of his grandfather’s blacksmith shop, Pascoal would experiment with the noises of scrap metal pieces and produce music from ordinary objects.

The multi-instrumentalist’s insight into freeform performances positioned him in a unique space, Adding his delicate touch to the busy percussion, break-neck bossas, samba and endlessly modulating melodies of Brazilian music.

Working with the likes of Edu Lobo, Elis Regina, César Camargo Mariano and Miles Davis amongst others, his influence on Jazz started to heighten in the 1970s.

Trusted with composing several tracks on Miles Davis’ album ‘Live/Evil’, this October, Pascoal welcomes you to a kaleidoscopic sonic party that transports you somewhere a little warmer, freer, and more vibrant.
