Genre-bending Fusion
House of Waters

Wednesday 1st December

“Grasping for definitions is useless with this band. Their genre can only be described
by other words like fresh, calm, serene, and bliss. Hearing something this new to me
feels like I’m hearing music for the first time all over again.”
– Paste Music

Lauded as the “Jimi Hendrix of Hammered Dulcimer” by NPR, Max ZT is an innovator
of the instrument. With roots in Irish folk music, Max has studied in Senegal, where he
trained with the Cissoko Griot family, and India, where he received the prestigious
American Institute of Indian Studies Fellowship to study under the great santoor
maestro Pandit Shivkumar Sharma.

Moto Fukushima is a master of the bass. With a background in jazz improvisation,
Western Classical Music, and the music of South America, Moto’s playing is a
combination of finesse, subtlety, and power.

House of Waters has scored an Emmy-winning documentary for ESPN, and has shared
the stage with some of the most influential musicians of the century including: Pandit
Ravi Shankar, Victor Wooten, Tinariwen, Snarky Puppy, Karsh Kale, and more.

For this special performance, Max and Moto will be accompanied by a very special
guest on drums. Keep an eye here for more information
