Future idol Liraz makes her UK debut after winning the best artist category at the Songlines Awards 2021.
Fresh off the back of her second album, Zan (“Women” in Farsi) on Glitterbeat Records.
In the creation of the shimmering electro-pop meets pulsing dance rhythms and retro Persian sonics, Liraz collaborated online with composers and musicians from Iran. Using clandestine message platforms, the result is her private revolution – songs with a true message, music to make people dance and smile – and above all, think.
This follows in the steps of her first album Naz (2018), where she wrote and sang in Farsi, the music at times exploring the sounds of pre-revolution Iranian pop music.
