The first in a series of new events alongside globetrotting crate diggers and label heads Mr Bongo, we’re hugely excited to be welcoming the pioneering jazz-funk group Cortex to the Jazz Café.
Forming in 1970s France, Cortex’s seminal LP Troupeau Bleu went on to become the holy grail of French groove, and has since been sampled by the likes MF Doom, Lope Fiasco and Rick Ross. Bringing together aspects of jazz funk, Brazilian groove and Alain Mion’s unparalleled keyboard arrangement, Cortex remain one of the most innovative live talents around.
Featuring the original 1970s lineup, this is a rare chance to catch the band on UK soil as they celebrate the recent reissue of their iconic debut.
Alain Mion – Piano & Rhodes piano

Loic Soulat – sax and synthesizer
