Every Saturday at the Jazz Cafe, we connect the dots between soul, disco, house and more from across the ages with our weekly Saturday club night Soul City.
With a luxurious cocktail bar on our mezzanine floor and an energetic dance floor below, join our favourite selectors as they dig deep into their record crates and take us on a trip through some of their most-loved party grooves.
No summary of New York City’s dance music history would be complete without Nicky Siano. As the owner and resident DJ at Studio 54 and The Gallery, Nicky was electrified by a visit to The Loft and became hooked on New York’s emerging club culture of the 70s.
As a DJ, Nicky Siano was not only one of the first to understand which tracks gave the right vibe, but also how to mix them together. He also pioneered DJing techniques such as beatmatching, EQing, and using three turntables, creating the proto-disco sound via his preferred funky soul and R&B records.
Standby for a night of classic, timeless New York disco courtesy of the icon that is Nicky Siano.
Perfect for groups of 15 to 150, our mezzanine level is all about exclusivity and intimacy. To reserve an area for drinks, click ‘party bookings’ and submit an enquiry.
