Onipa + Penya + Dowdelin

Tuesday 30th July

On 30 July we bring you a night of pioneering new international acts taking afro-influenced electronic music in new directions.

Formed out of members of K.O.G & The Zongo Brigade and Nubiyan Twist, Onipa head the bill with deep afro grooves and fiery electronics. Their raw, fiercely energetic new sound is making waves on the international scene as they fuse live electronics, afrofuturism, dance and pure fire.

They’ll be joined by Afro-Latin Quartet Penya off the back of their recent release with On The Corner Records. Their unmissable percussive mix of tribal, alternative dancefloor rhythms has seen them take prime spots at Worldwide Festival, tour with Sons of Kemet and collaborate with the likes of Dengue, Dengue, Dengue.

Dowdelin complete the bill with their incredible fusion of Afro-Caribbean creole sounds. Their trailblazing record on Underdog Records is utterly unique in it’s blend of contemporary soul and French-Carribean traditions.

Música Macondo boss and Jazz FM presenter Tim Garcia provides the soundtrack in between these unmissable acts of the future.
