Our final Rhythm Section Live show of 2019 delivers yet again with a huge triple bill of groundbreaking, UK crossover-jazz talent.
Headlining is drummer Richard Spaven whose jawdropping, sold out show in January is still being talked about as one of the live shows of the year.
Spaven is the most in demand drummer of his ilk, playing with José James, Flying Lotus, The Cinematic Orchestra, Guru’s Jazzmatazz, Gregory Porter to name but a few.
Joining him is the South London supergroup Saul. Made up of members of Vels Trio and Footshooter alongside Steam Down’s Brother Portrait and Barack Obama favourite, Poppy Ajudha. With a record forthcoming on Rhythm Section, the group have all the ingredients to be one of the most exciting bands in the UK scene.
Opening the show will be the latest signing to Black Acre’s stellar roster, Sydney, whose 2019 EP eSwatini has garnered wide praise.
