A Grammy nominated artist, composer and producer, and one of the true legends of the Hammond Organ, Ronnie Foster learned on the bench at the young age of 12 from the master himself, Jimmy Smith.
His albums, recorded for Blue Note Records in the 1970s, have obtained a cult following after the emergence of acid jazz. With a new group featuring guitarist Jake Langley, formerly with Jazz Organist Joey DeFrancesco and drummer Jess Gopen, the most coveted drummer in Las Vegas, The Ronnie Foster Trio plays jazz, funk, blues, soul, and latin music, taking the B3 trio into uncharted territory while remaining firmly rooted in the tradition.
Foster was recently awarded the 2016 Jazz Organ Fellowship Lifetime Achievement Award from The San Jose Jazz Festival; join us for a rare opportunity to spend an evening in the company of a jazz icon.
Opening the show will be trumpet and flugelhorn player Kevin G Davy with his quintet.
