This spring bank holiday Sunday, we welcome a trio of french electronic mega talent: Vladimir Cauchemar, Alan Braxe and Joakim.
Enigmatic producer Vladimir Cauchemar is a protege of Busy P’s legendary Parisian label Ed Banger records. After racking up several million views with his track ‘Aulos’, little has been seen or heard from him since – thanks in part to his ever present skeleton mask. He has however coined his own dedicated sub genre, “medieval house music” – the medieval part, presumably, due to his inspirational use of the recorder…
Having released some of the biggest dance tracks in history, Alan Braxe needs little introduction. From ‘Music Sounds Better With You’, a track co-written with Daft Punk under the name Stardust, plus ‘Intro’ with Fred Faulke – Alan is the ultimate introduction to French electro and house sounds.
Another of France’s greatest electronic music exports in Joakim round off the bill. The prolific Parisian artist has been honing his colourful and downright weird take on club music across countless records and aliases on Gilb’R’s Versatile label and his own Tigersushi imprint, remixing everyone from Cut Copy to Robyn along the way.
