We team up with Women In Jazz to present a trio of breakthrough artists from London’s fertile jazz scene.
British-Bahraini flugelhorn player Yazz Ahmed returns to the venue following her sell out album launch last year. Here she’ll be presenting her new improvisation project Electric Dreams, in which collaborates with her favourite musicians to create unique, spontaneous compositions.
These free flowing and conversational improvisations make use of electronic effects, sound design, live looping and sampling, in an exploration of contemporary jazz from a different angle.
Also joining the bill is Nérija trombonist Rosie Turton, who brings her quintet following the acclaimed release of her 5ive EP on Jazz re:freshed in January, and internationally renowned harpist and the PRS Women Make Music Award winner Alina Bzhezhinska will open the show with a solo performance on the harp.
She’s performed with leading classical and jazz musicians such as Shabaka Hutchings, Django Bates, Miguel Atwood-Ferguson and the Glasgow String Quartet.
