Brazil’s rising star, Yago Oproprio, has a distinctive sound combining elements of hip-hop with Brazilian and Latin flavours, paired with his laidback rap toplines.

A native of São Paulo, he grew up in Venezuela learning Spanish where he first heard the music of Calle 13, Orishas, and Don Omar, influencing the rhythms and uniqueness to his creations.

Now in Brazil, he made waves in the national funk and rap scene, with influences such as Sabotage, Duda Marapé, Sombra and Racionais, while at the same time absorbing names like Chico Buarque, Moreira da Silva, Pedro Luís and da Silva, Pedro Luís e a Parede, among many others.

The Brazilian musical innovator has over 3 million monthly listeners and brings his urban poetics to London.
