The Jazz Cafe
Hagan & Friends: JAEL, Kirou Kirou & Dibs

Friday 17th February

A fusionist known for intense bass and intricate drumplay, DJ and producer Hagan has built a name for himself by blending the sounds of UK funky and garage with those connected to his Ghanaian heritage, from hiplife to gospel.

Giovanni Jano, better known as JAEL, is a 28 year old Moluccan recording artist, producer, DJ and vocalist from The Hague, The Netherlands. His passion for music began from a young age where he grew up in a household surrounded by Moluccan Folk songs, Moluccan Gospel, Soul/Funk & Japanese Funk.

Kirou Kirou is a young Parisian who is mixing hip-hop and R&B with Afro-trap and Baile Funk, and arriving at a beat-heavy sound of cosmopolitan global Blackness. He is one of the founders and the curator behind the 99Ginger collective.

Dibs is known for her exciting blends of Afrobeats, Altè and re-imagining the sounds of the past. She has done guest mixes on NTS Radio, Balamii and No Signal as well as sets across London, NYC, Barcelona, Paris, Italy and her hometown Lagos.
