Our famed Cuban night returns!
From the Melas of Bangladesh to the streets of Havana, via some districts in Lagos and on to a bustling club in London, Lokkhi Terra is the flagship of London’s multicultural music landscape; Kishon Khan’s keyboards and artistic direction allows the Bangladeshi traditional music to meld with his Cuban rhythm section to really fine effect.
From ages-old Bangladeshi folk songs in funked-up cha-cha-cha arrangements, to Palmieri-style salsa played in non-Western scales, Lokkhi Terra have found a recipe that blends Latin, Afrobeat, jazz, dub and all manner of other elements to create a truly exceptional and surprising groove.
Joining them on the night will be René Álvarez’s Quartet, who combine everything from danzon and traditional Cuban son to salsa and merengue styles, including funk and R&B fusion.
DJ Javier La Maquina De Cuba will once again take to the decks to set the tone for the night.
