It’s an all-Romans-Hopcraft family affair at the Jazz Cafe.
For the first time ever, father Robin (founder of dub reggae band Soothsayers), will share the bill with his twin sons Ben (who will perform with his band, indie rock sensations Childhood) and Miles (beatmaker Wu-Lu).
Soothsayers have been producing, recording and performing original afrobeat and reggae-inspired music, recording five studio albums to help cement their position as key figures in the London live music scene.
Their music has helped inspire a generation of artists, and none more so than the music of his two sons. Brixton five piece Childhood, of whom Ben Romans Hopcraft is the frontman, put out their second album Universal High in July, to universal acclaim. The album underlines Ben’s laid-back approach to making music, drenched as it is in the sounds of old-school pop and retro soul.
NTS and Touching Bass mainstay Wu-Lu is one of the London hip-hop scene’s most exciting talents, and has previously performed at the Jazz Cafe, supporting friend and collaborator MNDSGN back in September. This time he will be bringing a full band for the special occasion.
